VETERAN'S DAY 2017
On behalf of Saeger's Service Club, we'd like to thank our U.S. Veterans and current military for serving our country.
Holiday Helpers 2017...
Tuesday, Dec. 12th, 3:30-5:15pm:
We are getting ready for our upcoming Annual Christmas Caroling Outing!
We will take our caroling act on the road again to Harvester Residential Care nursing home facility. We take goodies for the elderly residents and sing Christmas Carols. We will need parent volunteers to help transport students. We will plan to leave the school by 3:30pm and return by 5:15pm. (Permission slips are due back to me by December 6th)
Sat. Dec.9th from 10am-11:30:
The last outing for 2017 is the Adopt- A-Family event which will be held at St. Charles Community College and is sponsored by St. Joachim & Ann. Students will need a ride to and from SCC. Parents are welcome to stay and help us as we move and wrap Christmas gifts for needy families.
I would like for students and/or families that will participate, to meet me at SCC at 10am and we will plan to leave at 11:30am.
Please email me at email@example.com and let me know if you and/your student will attend.
Very Top: Members of the Service & Culture Clubs joined forces and spread Christmas Cheer at the Harvester Residential Care Nursing facility. Students sang traditional Christmas songs along with residents. The performance also featured a flute trio by Emily Albers, Abby Done and Hattie Ransom. In addition, Shante Hanna, Aria Lynch and J.D. Salser sang "Silent Night" as a trio. Aria Lynch also played guitar while singing "Mary did you know?" Members also took treats and socialized with residents before boarding the bus back for Saeger.
Above: Some club members pose with their new "Spartan Service Club" t-shirts.
The club had a blast at our 2014 Christmas Party! They had some "hang time" and plenty of snacks, enjoyed a team building "minute to win it" cup stacking game and a team scavenger hunt which was hilarious to watch!
Next Thursday, Dec. 11th is the caroling trip--please send in those permission slips. The bus will bring us back by 5:30pm here at Saeger.
We have only 1 week left for our annual "Spartan Winter Warm-Up" coat drive. So if you have any coats, gloves or scarves that you can donate--please do! We want to make a big difference in our community this winter.
Below are a few pics from the party. Enjoy!
Well, with the holidays around the corner, there's a buzz in the air! There will also be a buzz of students working hard because December will be a busy month for the club.
Save the date! We'll kick the month off in fun fashion with our Christmas Party on December 4th. All members should bring a snack/drink to share and come prepared to have fun! Whoo-hoo!
On December 11th, we'll take our Christmas spirit to the Harvester Residential Care Nursing Facility for our 2014 Christmas Caroling & Cabaret outing where we will perform, sing with and mingle with the elderly residents. Members are also asked to bring some goodies to take for the residents. They love our visits and are excited to see us! The Saeger Culture Club will also accompany us as well. We will ride together on a bus and will leave Saeger around 3:30-3:45 and return to Saeger by 5:30pm. All students should be picked up by 5:30pm. Be on the lookout for permission slips which will be going home with students soon.
On December 1-12th, we will host our annual coat and winter gear drive called the "Spartan Winter Warm-Up." We will have drop off sites for donations at Saeger, Warren Elementary and Schnuck's in Cottleville.
Club pictures will be taken during 3rd hour Friday November 7th.
Don't forget the Veteran's Day Program will be next Tuesday, Nov. 11th from 9-10am. Service Club will serve as hosts for this event. All students are welcome to invite Veteran's to attend this event. The deadline to bring in your $14 for club t-shirts is Friday, Nov. 14th. Also, the next meeting is Nov. 20th. We will be planning the annual Christmas Carol & Cabaret for our trip to the Harvester Residential Care Nursing Home and our annual coat drive. We would love to have some district approved parent volunteers to help drive students to our outing to the nursing facility which is scheduled for Dec. 11th.
